Los Haitises and El Limón Waterfall

A world of caves and jungle

Start from the hotels of Samana and Las Terrenas towards the dock where you will board a boat that will take you to the largest and most complete natural reserve of the country, Los Haitises National Park. Here, you will explore landscapes, caves and islands never seen before in your life. Visit Caño Hondo (deep stream) River, la Cueva de la Arena (sand cave), Cueva Gabriel (Gabriel Cave), la Linea (the line) and Boca Tiburon (shark’s mouth). Sail through the mangroves and many cays and view the endemic birds of the region.

Later you’ll go to Los Corrales Beach, for a delicious lunch of seafood paella. After resting, travel on to the village of Limon and arrive at the Rancho Maria for a welcome drink and the start of a horseback ride through the forest to arrive at Limon waterfall, over 60 meters high, one of the highest, challenging and most impressive falls of the country. After a rejuvenating splash, return to Rancho Maria and board a jeepeta truck that will transport you back to the hotels.
