Dominican Republic


Democratic, with three different powers: executive, legislative and judicial.


The official language is Spanish, although in the tourist areas it’s common to find people who can speak Italian, French, German and English.


In the country there are approximately 10.5 million people, 4 of which are located in Santo Domingo. 70% of the population is of mixed race, 15% is of black race and 15% is Caucasian.

Economy and investment

The leading economical sectors are agriculture, mining, tourism and free zone industries. In the last few years, tourism and free zone industries have been the most dynamic sectors in the country’s economy.

Money and banking

The national currency is the Dominican Peso.
